The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a government-backed grant designed to help businesses, charities, and public sector organisations reduce the cost of installing electric vehicle (EV) charging points at their premises.

The scheme has now been extended until 31st March 2027, with increased funding available from 1st April 2026, making it even more attractive for organisations looking to future-proof their facilities.

Increased WCS Grant – From April 2026

From April 1st 2026, the WCS grant will increase from £350 to £500 per socket, covering up to 75% of the total installation cost.

This means businesses can significantly reduce upfront costs when installing EV charge points for staff, fleet vehicles, or visitors.

Who is Eligible for the WCS Grant?

You may qualify for the Workplace Charging Scheme if you:

• Own or lease a commercial property with off-street parking
• Have a business need for EV charging (company vehicles or employee use)
• Use an OZEV-approved installer, such as Able Electrical

How Many Chargers Can You Claim?
