EV charger installation in Bearwood & Smethwick: your questions answered
Can't see your question? Call your local team. We answer 24/7.
Do you install EV chargers in Bearwood and Smethwick?
Yes. We install workplace, fleet, car park and home chargers across Bearwood, Smethwick, Cape Hill, Londonderry, Warley, Harborne, Quinton, Oldbury and Rood End. Call your local team on 0121 285 0136.
Can you install a charger at a terraced house?
If you have private off-street parking, usually yes. Running a cable across a public pavement isn't allowed without permission, so we'll check the options with you on the survey.
Can landlords get grants?
Yes. The OZEV landlord grant pays up to £500 per socket, across up to 200 sockets, until 31 March 2027. We can install across a single property or a whole portfolio, between tenancies if that's easier.
Can small businesses get charging grants?
Yes. Businesses, charities and public sector organisations can claim up to £500 per socket through the Workplace Charging Scheme, and state-funded schools up to £2,000 per socket, until 31 March 2027.
Can my business get a grant for EV chargers?
Most businesses, charities and public sector organisations in Bearwood & Smethwick can claim up to £500 per socket through the OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme (up to 40 sockets), and state-funded schools up to £2,000 per socket. The schemes run until 31 March 2027. We confirm eligibility and handle the installer side of the claim.
Is there a grant for a home EV charger?
Renters and flat owners with private off-street parking can get up to £500 towards a home chargepoint until 31 March 2027. If you own a house, there's no grant at the moment, but you can still save by charging overnight on an EV tariff.
Which EV chargers do you install?
All the main brands. For most sites we recommend Rolec, Ohme, VCHRGD, Tesla or Andersen. We'll explain the differences in plain English, from app features and load management to looks and price.
Will my electricity supply cope with EV chargers?
We carry out a full load assessment before quoting. Load management often lets you install more chargers without upgrading your supply. If an upgrade or DNO approval is needed, we explain the options and take care of the paperwork.
How long does an EV charger installation take?
A typical home installation is completed in one visit. For workplaces, fleets and car parks we agree a programme that fits around your operations, including evening and weekend work.
Can I charge my EV from solar panels?
Yes, and for businesses with daytime fleets or staff parking it can make a big difference to running costs. We design and install MCS-certified solar and battery systems alongside your chargers, with drone roof surveys.
How do I get a quote?
Fill in the quote form or give us a call. Calls are answered 24/7. We'll ask a few quick questions about your site and arrange a survey, then send a fixed quote with any grant shown.
